Can I Use My Old Satelite Receiver Box At A Different Location?

When i moved the satelite company told me the boxes inside the house were mine ( i didn’t have to return them)
Now that im in a new home with new service from the same company I want to use one of the old receivers )that has a dvr built in) in place of the newer box.
Can this be done? Will my old box get zapped or something and be ruined?
Nothing bad will happen but you will have to call them to authorize the box.
Yes you can. Just call them so they can send authorization code down to the old dvr receiver.
