  1. in the united states cable tv companys have verry low standards (or they are too lazy to maintain ther cabels. and telephone companys are bad too, it took them over 4 monthe to make my phone sound claer .

  2. Well, I’m of course using scart too, but I would prefer those 3 RCA jacks instead of that. Scart plugs always come out of their jacks or fall apart. Scart is an easy, but very stupid system :P

  3. I had Foxtel for the NRL but ditched it when the prices went up.

  4. There are some pay TV neworks in Germany, but I don’t know their names… “Sky” is a network I know.

  5. Where did you get your video intro of the cassettes from Jonas?

  6. I made it by myself. The photos of the cassettes came out of the internet.

  7. Yup… my aunt & uncle had a big satellite dish at their farm near Utica, NY and they used to get many cable TV channels for free over it, until the signals started being scrambled in the ’90s. These days the same range of frequencies are used here, but “big dish” satellite is now mostly just used by radio and TV stations to pick up programming from the networks.Europe is different because analog satellite TV was, and still is, much more popular and widespread there, so it’s still in use.

  8. vwestlife is right. In Europe sattelite TV (analog&digital) is really popular. Analog on air TV had not the best quality and there weren’t much stations. And today’s digital on air television still isn’t perfect. You need a huge antenna for receiving it. And cable TV isn’t available everywhere, in our area there’s no cable TV!!! So in our whole area we have sattelite TV. But the satellite dishes are not that big. About half a metre across. In 2010 analog satellite TV will be turned off.

  9. I know a repair place near mine that’s always throwing out TV and satellite receivers, it’s where I got a lot of my tape decks and VCR’s from. I often salvage components from old circuit boards myself.

  10. Yes, that’s always a good source for electronic components and parts, and it’s free!
