In the early days of satellite TV, say, around 1984, the average “dish” was probably at least 6 feet in diameter. Based on ads from then, it sounded like you could just buy a dish, and get reception. I have 2 television sets but I got only 1 receiver. Is it possible to distribute the channels from the receiver so that I can switch different programs direct from the remote control of my tv without affecting the receiver? And also the other tv set may choose which programs he likes to watch.

Viewsat PVR 7000 Satellite DVR FTA TV Receiver PVR7000
I just started to look into buying my own equipment, and I did not want to get burned.
It is just wierd that more people dont buy thier own euipment. Does any body know of any place that has some good info about this stuff?
